DVI Dual/Single Link & HDMI

DVI-I cables contain both digital and analog  connections. DVI-D (like DFP or P&D-D (EVC)) is a digital only connection. DVI-A is an analog only connection, usually linked to SVGA devices.

Dual Link cables provide bandwidth for resolutions  up to 2048 x 1536. Dual link cables are required to  connect only dual link hardware. Single Link cables  support resolutions of over 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz  (HDTV). HDMI cables are a digital set-top-box/HDTV  connection.
